When ‘The Boss’ is busy on Broadway, the Springsteen Session keep it live in the UK
With The Boss busy with his Broadway show till New Year at least, all you Springsteen fans out there will have been starved of his live shows over here for two years now. Well, panic no more – the famine is over!!
Glasgow’s top homage band The Springsteen Sessions have been around since 2011, bringing their authentic and thrilling show to thousands of people at theatres, clubs and festivals across Scotland, England and Northern Ireland – and the good news is they’re about to play at a venue near you very soon. If you want to hear the closest thing in the UK to the original, then this is for you ……
Far from trying to be a lookalike act, the seven top quality players who make up The Springsteen Sessions are totally immersed in the 40+year career of The Boss, and are seasoned musicians who arrive in your town with a mighty sound that will leave you enthralled, excited, energised – and gagging for more, before they thunder on to the motorway ( should that be ‘freeway’ ?) and head off for their next show, where they’ll do it all again in their gripping rollercoaster of a show !!
You need to be there … honest … they are a sensational band … just read what the fans say …
Great night with The Springsteen Sessions
‘Excellent musicians who played a strong set of Springsteen covers ( with some surprises as well as many great standards). They’re a good band in their own right and put their own personality into the music rather than just copying the original. A fantastic night out both for Springsteen devotees and anyone who loves to rock. Favourite moment – Two of them – Tougher Than The Rest, beautiful and heartfelt in the middle of a high-energy fun night, and a really impressive Born To Run. The whole experience was just great.’
Bruce would approve
‘Second time experienced this band, and a sold out venue wasn’t disappointed. Two and a half hours of class music by a classy tight group of musicians. A superb night of entertainment. Favourite moment – Bobby Jean and Jungleland.’
‘Great venue, great band … met new friends and rocked the night away.’
‘Great night out. Authentic sound. Good musicians. Excellent substitute for Bruce. Favourite moment – Out In The Street.’
‘I’m not an advocate of tribute bands, however I was very impressed by this outfit. I am a huge Springsteen fan and found this to be an evening of homage to the man and his music. Superbly done and a great night’s entertainment. If you like Springsteen or just want a good night go and see them. Favourite moment – Jungleland. Overall experience – amazing.’
Just when you needed a shot of Springsteen…
‘It was a cold cold night and I was tired from partying the night before. Was it going to be worth that extra effort to travel all the way across town, two buses and a walk at the other end ? Of course it was ! The Springsteen Sessions were absolutely amazing. The main man could easily have been The Boss himself. Superb! Great personality! And that saxophonist … Clarence would have been proud. This is a must-see band. Full audience participation expected and boy did we sing! Brilliant night! Favourite moments – The River and Jungleland.’
A great night for a Bruce singalong
‘As a Springsteen fan I wasn’t sure what to expect and to be honest my expectations were quite low, but it was a full house so things looked positive. They were playing the whole of Born In The USA, then they moved on to all the classics from Born To Run, The Wild The Innocent, The River etc. It felt like the band was far more at home as the night went on and the crowd fully got into the spirit. The singer, the sax player and the keyboard player were really outstanding. Overall a great night was had by all and a terrific singalong got everyone in the mood for the holidays. Favourite moments – Great versions of Rosalita, Jungleland, Tenth Avenue Freeze Out and Born To Run. An excellent experience and a happy and memorable night.’
